Dear Parents,
It was a great first week back at school! I know that I keep saying that I can't believe these kids are in my homeroom, but I am still amazed that time flown by this fast. They were the little ones in the cafeteria, when I would walk by at lunch, and shout "IT'S SCIENCE DAY!" and now it's science day every day! :) I loved their enthusiasm then and am truly driven by it now.
The rain just keeps coming down. I hope that your family has not seen damage to your home due to the excess water. I hope we get some dry days very soon!
This week this kids start, in earnest, on the first project in science for the year. They are each to build a plant or animal cell. Each project should make a connection to a topic (sports, food, a building, etc..) and be created via that connection. I am so anxious to see the creativity of this group. The project and all its parts are due on September 20th.
There are several students who still do not have their Camp Gray forms in to the office. Please take care of that asap. Many students are missing book covers, I am giving them until the end of the week to take care of it. I will gladly show them how to wrap them in paper bags, if you provide the bags. Also color is not essential as I have duct tape that we can use to identify the content of the book.
Tuesday we have a blessing of the school in the morning. It is usually held out by the flag pole, if it is raining I am assuming it will be in the gym. Thursday is the magazine kick off assemblies in the gym.
Have a fantastic week!
Kim
