Dear Parents,

As we get closer and closer to the end of the quarter, more and more projects... will be due.  Please help me to help the kids to stay focused and on track.  We had a great Thursday and Friday during work time, but that was after a VERY ROUGH Wednesday study hall.  I am so glad they realized what an opportunity he/she was giving up by not using their time.

We will start our next science project this week.  It is one of my absolute favorite 7th grade projects.  They learn about cell reproduction but must develop a way to perform it for the class.  They are able to work in groups for this project.  I LOVE the creativity that comes out during this time.  It will be due on October 15th at the end of class.

If your child wants to take advantage of the early due date for articles, it is this week.  7th graders' articles must be in by October 3rd for that opportunity.  The real due date is October 17th.

Have a wonderful week!  Please never hesitate to reach out if you have thoughts or questions.  I am only an email away!

Kim

Dear Parents, ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!!  Your kids have done a great job so far with the pig dissection.  Their interest continues to grow and their concentration on the task at hand has made all the difference.  I gave them a copy of the study guide for the upcoming test, so hopefully he/she have started at least looking at the information.  That test will be May 20th and its a BIG ONE, so hopefully they will be ready to go when the time arrives! This is our last week of "normal" classes before everything with end-of-the-year stuff is upon us!  Please keep an eye out for the principal updates each Friday.  He does a great job of giving the upcoming activities happening at school. Have a great week!!! Many blessings, Kim

Happy April Fool's Day!  :) Can you believe we are all ready to enter APRIL?!  I hope that spring break went well for everyone.  It was a much needed break and I am sure that the 7th graders were ready to relax after all the science fair hubbub!  :) We will be finishing up the MAEAR project they are working on in science.  Those are due at the beginning of class on Wednesday, April 10th, along with the self assessment.  After that project, we will start the virtual pig dissection.  This year we're able to set up the computer program on the Chrome Books so the students can work on it independently.  We start the actual pig dissection after Easter break. I look forward to a great spring!  I can't wait to see the school play this upcoming week! Take care, Kim

Dear Parents, It was a great first week back at school!  I know that I keep saying that I can't believe these kids are in my homeroom, but I am still amazed that time flown by this fast.  They were the little ones in the cafeteria, when I would walk by at lunch, and shout "IT'S SCIENCE DAY!" and now it's science day every day!  :)  I loved their enthusiasm then and am truly driven by it now. The rain just keeps coming down.  I hope that your family has not seen damage to your home due to the excess water.  I hope we get some dry days very soon! This week this kids start, in earnest, on the first project in science for the year.  They are each to build a plant or animal cell.  Each project should make a connection to a topic (sports, food, a building, etc..) and be created via that connection.  I am so anxious to see the creativity of this group.  The project and all its parts are due on September 20th. There are several students ...
