Dear Parents, As we get closer and closer to the end of the quarter, more and more projects... will be due.  Please help me to help the kids to stay focused and on track.  We had a great Thursday and Friday during work time, but that was after a VERY ROUGH Wednesday study hall.  I am so glad they realized what an opportunity he/she was giving up by not using their time. We will start our next science project this week.  It is one of my absolute favorite 7th grade projects.  They learn about cell reproduction but must develop a way to perform it for the class.  They are able to work in groups for this project.  I LOVE the creativity that comes out during this time.  It will be due on October 15th at the end of class. If your child wants to take advantage of the early due date for articles, it is this week.  7th graders' articles must be in by October 3rd for that opportunity.  The real due date is October 17th.  Have a wonder...

Dear Parents, The cell projects have been turned in and I will have them graded by Monday.  The kids did a nice job!  I have attached their pictures below! We have mass on Wednesday.  We start our next science unit this week.  They will learn about the cell reproduction process.  The next project begin next week.  If students are working on his/her articles, the early due date is next week. Have a great week! Kim

Dear Parents, Yet another beautiful weekend!  I heard there might be rain by the end of the week, so get out and enjoy it while you can. The cell projects are due on Thursday at the beginning class.  They must turn in their hard copy of the cell and the key; they almost must turn in the connections and self assessment via google classroom.  So far, the projects I have seen are really good. I hope everyone has a great week!!! Take care and many blessings, Kim

Dear Parents, I am so thankful that the heat of last week seems to be in the past!  Waking up with the windows open and  feeling the cool breeze was awesome! This week: Monday and Tuesday, the 7th and 8th graders head north to Camp Gray.  I will head up (driving) on Monday with them and stay until after lunch.  Ms. Pitz is driving up after school and staying over and coming back on Tuesday.  Mr. Pothof, Mr. Beisser and Mr. Schmidt are staying over as well.  Don't forget to sell those magazines, etc...  The first collection is Tuesday (Monday for 7th/8th graders) and next week is the final.  The kids are excited about possibly seeing Mr. Beisser up on the roof! Don't forget we are in the midst of cell projects!  Please ask your child how it is going... First full week is almost on its way! Blessings, Kim

Dear Parents, It was a great first week back at school!  I know that I keep saying that I can't believe these kids are in my homeroom, but I am still amazed that time flown by this fast.  They were the little ones in the cafeteria, when I would walk by at lunch, and shout "IT'S SCIENCE DAY!" and now it's science day every day!  :)  I loved their enthusiasm then and am truly driven by it now. The rain just keeps coming down.  I hope that your family has not seen damage to your home due to the excess water.  I hope we get some dry days very soon! This week this kids start, in earnest, on the first project in science for the year.  They are each to build a plant or animal cell.  Each project should make a connection to a topic (sports, food, a building, etc..) and be created via that connection.  I am so anxious to see the creativity of this group.  The project and all its parts are due on September 20th. There are several students ...
