Dear Parents,

It's here, It's here, It's here.... finally, December has arrived!  I was so happy to start Advent this morning at church and hearing Deacon David's homily was really good.  Sounds like Fr. Randy is doing well and will use one more week of time to continue his healing.  Fr. Allam has been doing a good job in the absence of Fr. Randy.  We are so thankful for all of their leadership.

This week:
Monday: We have our first Advent Prayer gathering at 8:30 in the church.  Everyone is welcome to join us! The 6th - 8th grade will have Reconciliation in the church from 12:40-1:30.  All Catholic students will participate and those non-Catholics who would like a special blessing pray are welcome to come forward, as well.

Wednesday:  We have mass at 8:45.

Thursday:  The long awaited Science Fair packets will be handed out to the 7th and 8th graders during science class.  The students have until December 13th to turn in the parent signature stating they have read through the packet and understand the responsibilities of the parent.

Friday:  We have families in the morning.  We will be learning about St. Francis Xavier Cabrini.  The 8th graders have done a great job so far this year and I expect that they will continue.  We have Craft Day in the afternoon starting at 1:30 in the gym.  A HUGE thank you goes out to Norma Fair and her elves that will be helping out with the 7th grade project.  Also a BIG SHOUT OUT to Tiffany Leck for being the leader of this afternoon!

I hope everyone has a great week!  Many blessings,
Kim

Dear Parents, ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!!  Your kids have done a great job so far with the pig dissection.  Their interest continues to grow and their concentration on the task at hand has made all the difference.  I gave them a copy of the study guide for the upcoming test, so hopefully he/she have started at least looking at the information.  That test will be May 20th and its a BIG ONE, so hopefully they will be ready to go when the time arrives! This is our last week of "normal" classes before everything with end-of-the-year stuff is upon us!  Please keep an eye out for the principal updates each Friday.  He does a great job of giving the upcoming activities happening at school. Have a great week!!! Many blessings, Kim

Happy April Fool's Day!  :) Can you believe we are all ready to enter APRIL?!  I hope that spring break went well for everyone.  It was a much needed break and I am sure that the 7th graders were ready to relax after all the science fair hubbub!  :) We will be finishing up the MAEAR project they are working on in science.  Those are due at the beginning of class on Wednesday, April 10th, along with the self assessment.  After that project, we will start the virtual pig dissection.  This year we're able to set up the computer program on the Chrome Books so the students can work on it independently.  We start the actual pig dissection after Easter break. I look forward to a great spring!  I can't wait to see the school play this upcoming week! Take care, Kim

Dear Parents, It was a great first week back at school!  I know that I keep saying that I can't believe these kids are in my homeroom, but I am still amazed that time flown by this fast.  They were the little ones in the cafeteria, when I would walk by at lunch, and shout "IT'S SCIENCE DAY!" and now it's science day every day!  :)  I loved their enthusiasm then and am truly driven by it now. The rain just keeps coming down.  I hope that your family has not seen damage to your home due to the excess water.  I hope we get some dry days very soon! This week this kids start, in earnest, on the first project in science for the year.  They are each to build a plant or animal cell.  Each project should make a connection to a topic (sports, food, a building, etc..) and be created via that connection.  I am so anxious to see the creativity of this group.  The project and all its parts are due on September 20th. There are several students ...
